Program Philosophy & Curriculum
Our Reggio Emilia inspired philosophy is based on developmentally appropriate practice using the goals from the
"Maine Early Learning Guidelines". Teachers are intentional in their planning, incorporating a curriculum where children are active learners and decision makers. The focus of our curriculum is to establish a strong developmental base for each child's sense of individuality, as well as a positive self-concept. Research shows that this type of early learning empowers young children to become life long learners.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy is based upon the following set of principles:
- Children must have some control over the direction of their learning
- Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, seeing, and hearing
- Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world
- Children must be allowed to explore
- Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves
